Ideal for the small business, NVM-Vangard can expand from two to eight Voice Mail ports and has a very large (up to 65 hours) message storage for a small voice mail system. The Vangard is small (12" x 9" x 2") and light - only 5 lbs. It may be programmed by directly connecting a laptop to an RS-232C port or remotely through the Vangard Mail internal modem. The Vangard can also be part of a network of Voice Mail systems using the AMIS communications protocol.
The Vangard includes built-in capabilities for use in a multilingual environment. Three (3) languages are built into the Vangard: English, French and Spanish. In addition the English language has two iterations which use either mnemonic prompts "Dial L to listen to your messages." or numerical prompts, i.e. "Dial 5 to listen to your messages."
For a small and relatively inexpensive voice mail system the NVM-Vangard offers a large number of the most desirable features including Automatic Attendant so incoming calls can be answered automatically using different Answer Schedule Tables. This allows customizing the answer depending upon user requirements - different times of day or incoming lines for two different departments.
The Vangard includes the most popular voice mail features including Caller ID, Automatic Transfer (a call from a specific number is automatically transferred to a programmed mailbox), as well Caller ID with Return Call. With this feature the voice mail user can return a call automatically after reviewing the voice mail message. The Vangard also includes advanced features such as Call Announce in which the Automatic Attendant asks the caller to state their name and then announces the call to the called party who can accept or reject the incoming call. Call Park & Page, Transfer to FAX machine, Individual Line Greetings and Multiple Company Greetings are all part of Vangard's extensive voice mail capabilities.
